About
**HOW DOES FIBROBLAST TREATMENT WORK?**
Avoid costly and risky cosmetic surgeries such as eyelid correction. Fibroblast Plasma Therapy is a new revolutionary non-surgical lift treatment highly effective, remarkable alternative to surgery. The extremely accurate hand held device works by utilising the voltage in the air between its tip and the natural gasses emitted from our skin, to form a plasma charge. The tool itself never touches the skin however plasma flash creates a tiny dot upon contact. There is no cuts and no blood. Targeted tissue sublimate, causing no damage to surrounding areas or deeper skin layers. A small electrical arc is created and instantly shrinks the targeted skin. The tissues retract and tighten giving you more youthful looking skin.
**WHAT IS IT USED TO TREAT?**
Fibroblast is able to treat a number of imperfections without any actual cutting of the skin. It can be used for:
- Eyelid Tightening, including under eyes and excess upper eyelid skin.
- Improvement in the appearance of acne scars
- Tightening loose stomach skin after pregnancy
- Lines and wrinkles around the mouth
- Jowls and Neck Tightening
- Knee Caps and Under Arms
- Stretch marks and Scars

**HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?**
As Fibroblast is more than a simple tightening treatment (skin volume is actually reduced), the effects should last as long as they would with invasive surgery. Like all surgical and cosmetic procedures, the effects of fibroblast are not entirely permanent as it does not stop any further ageing, although the positive results should last years depending on the area treated. The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the final results will be seen after 8 weeks. Additionally, there are lifestyle factors that can prevent the result from lasting as long as they can, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and prolonged sun exposure.
**HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
**
The number of treatments required will vary according to the area being treated, skin’s laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment. Most clients see results instantly and this continues to improve over the course of the following 8 weeks. Further treatments can be carried out to achieve better results. Appointments must be spaced out by 8 weeks.

**WHAT IS THE FIBROBLAST PLASMA THERAPY AFTERCARE?**
Immediately after treatment, there may be a burning sensation. This will usually resolve during the remainder of the day although if it is particularly uncomfortable or persists for a longer period, then an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen can be taken.
Following treatment, it is normal to have some swelling. This can be significant around the eyes and can last for several days. Cold compresses may be applied to reduce the swelling. If the swelling is more severe, an anti-inflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine may help alleviate the swelling.
Crusting will usually develop over the treated area, this will often initially be brown or black on the surface of the skin and flake off over the following days. It may take over 2 weeks to completely disappear. It is essential to not pick at this crusting as this may lead to infection or scarring. If the treated area starts to become hot or red or if there is any pus present, then please contact the clinic for advice as this may suggest an infection has developed.
It is essential to keep the treatment area clean, dry and protected with a broad spectrum sunscreen. Do not use alcohol-based cleansers.
It is very important to follow our aftercare recommendations. Carbon crusts CANNOT be scratched or removed. Drying skin by dabbing with a clean, lint-free cloth is allowed.
**SHOULD I WATCH FOR ANY UNUSUAL COMPLICATIONS?**
Fibroblast Plasma Therapy is very safe but in some rare occasions, complications may occur. Please inform your Fibroblast specialist immediately in case of any unusual symptoms. This may include signs of infection such as excessive redness, pus, blistering or thick, yellow crust forming in treatment area.
**CAN I USE COSMETICS AFTER THE PROCEDURE?**
Please avoid any moisturizing creams for 5-10 days. This is when usually when carbon crusts fall off. Patients need to avoid all direct heat sources such as saunas etc for the period of at least 4 weeks. In addition, direct sun exposure should be avoided for the period of three months. Once healed we highly recommend using an SPF-50 on the area to prevent ageing and hyperpigmentation caused by sun exposure.
